Okay. First off I would like to say that I am NOT a vandal. But this was WAAY to funny to pass up.....
I was sitting at my computer today. With Wikipedia open..... On a whim I researched 1996, the year of my birth. Unfortunately they DIDN'T have a paragraph for "August 18"....... Mwahaha... }=] Now I will repeat AGAIN. I am NOT a vandal. But I REALLY couldn't help it... So I posted:
"August 18- Rahel Sewell is born to the humble city of Ojai. The sheer brilliance created from the impact of this tiny being upon the face of this earth literally blew down 8 bongs, as well as 3 chicken coops. The local villagers were stunned. Even the sun shielded her eyes from the absolute magnitude of this child's power."
Unfortunatly it was deleted in a few minuets. So I tried again. I mean... It was TRUTH! .... Well.... With the POSSIBLE exception of the part about the bongs.... And the chicken coops... And MAYBE the Sun.....
But the REST was true.....
AANYWAY..... In like, 2 seconds I see that it's deleted AGAIN. ... And I have a new message....
"Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at 1996. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. -UserName*" (I won't use their name. That would be an asshole-ish thing to do....)
Doh. >< caught by a Wikipedia cop. I checked out this person's page and saw that they had a special vandal-catching device..... Darn.
XD Oh well. I guess it serves me right for posting something so self-revering on a public site..... Even if it WAS funny.....
Can't wait until next weeks hilarity: "I found a spray can that I used in Von's! Can you believe the cops removed it? Ah, well."
ReplyDeleteThis may be of some use:
"Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia and, as a means to that end, an online community of individuals interested in building a high-quality encyclopedia in a spirit of mutual respect. Therefore, there are certain things that Wikipedia is not."

I'm thinking you missed the "respect" part.
